What are they saying?

“Working with Liz has been an invaluable experience. One aspect that stood out was our discussions on interview questions, especially those tailored to specific sports. Being prepared with sport-specific and situational questions proved immensely beneficial during my interviews. Several of the questions we covered in our sessions were actually asked during my interview. It was truly a full circle moment!

One crucial piece of advice I gained from Liz, which I would like to share with future Sport RD Snippet mentees, is that it's essential to not only impress your interviewer but also evaluate whether you can work well with them. Take your time, absorb everything, and avoid rushing. Trust that everything happens for a reason. She is not just a mentor, but a friend who I can envision having in my life for years to come. She is authentic, genuine, and an overall fantastic mentor to collaborate with.

And where am I now? I am thrilled to say that I am currently a Football Nutrition Fellow at the University of Illinois! When I received the offer, I was so pumped and ready to get to work!”

“I signed up to work with Liz after listening to her Sports RD Snippet podcast and was looking for some extra support and mentorship as I was preparing for interviews for sports nutrition fellowships. I was feeling so defeated after applying for positions and making it to final round interviews and not getting the job, but Liz reminded me that the right opportunity will come and what perfect timing as I was offered the Performance Nutrition Fellow Position with the University of Nebraska Football Team the very next day!

Liz took the time out of her evening (a 2 hr time difference between Denver and Boston!!) to walk me through a mock interview and different interview questions the night before I had a big interview for a football performance nutrition fellowship position. She provided great feedback for how I answered interview questions and reminded me to be myself and show the team how passionate I am about helping fuel athletes on and off the field.

I only had 2 weeks of sports nutrition experience that included a week with the Denver Nuggets and I landed a fellowship position. ANYTHING is possible and experience is not the only thing that fellowships look at. Liz is an incredible resource to help build you up and provide you with the tools you need to push you over the edge for the next step in your career in sports dietetics. I will definitely be reaching out in the future for mentorship from Liz!”

“Overall, I had a great experience working with Liz and am very happy I signed up for mentoring. I signed up because as I was applying to fellowship positions, I was getting interviews but wasn’t getting selected for the position. I decided to reach out to Liz to see how I could get past the interview process and land a job. She offered me great interview tips and helped instill confidence in me. Shortly after my first call with her, I got offered three different positions. I am now at the University of Alabama as an Olympic fellow. I am very excited to have started my career as a sports dietitian and to have Liz as a great mentor and resource!”
